What is Therapeutic Yoga?

Therapeutic yoga and yoga therapy are unique approaches to health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and energetic. It is a holistic approach to healing that has the practice and philosophy of yoga as its foundation. When stress and/or anxiety are chronic they can become a habitual way of being in the body as well as the mind and our spirit.

Techniques and tools can be specifically designed and tailored to either energize or calm body, mind, emotions, and our patterns of thinking.

These practices can support us in resting the nervous system, managing stress/feelings of anxiety and navigating challenging times in our lives that cause us to suffer.

The yoga practices including postures, breathing, relaxation, and meditation support us in building strength and flexibility, increase our ability to self-regulate stress, contribute to our moment-to- moment awareness, and increase our connection to what we hold as deeply meaningful.
